Everyone has to make their own financial decisions. I am not advocating any position, just explaining potential outcomes and potential outcomes.  As a thought exercise inspired in no small part by Alas Babylon, a cold war novel about surviving nuclear war in America. I would never have thought about many of the following things had I not read that book as a child.  All eventualities barring nuclear Armageddon, are pointing at a Great Reset. Pretty much inevitable. I'm not talking about that. Assume for whatever reason it happens, what now? 1. Your old life is gone, never to return. Those who cannot accept this do not survive.  2. Civilization & normal human behavior is gone when people have no power, no food, no water (in a worst case - EMP/cyber/nuke/terror strike).  If in doubt, refer to step 1.  3. Dear Younger Me,   I got your letter finally but once again you forgot to write a date, so I don’t know specifically what “situation” you are referring to. Also, based on the science fiction movies and actual science that has come out over the last 30 years or so, I’m not so worried about creating any universe-ending paradoxes by giving you some guidance. However, there’s a lot that you will have to shoulder, regardless of what I say. I got a job with a #Dell computer reseller. Fly for training to #Miami. Meet executives. Everything is going great. This was a brand new program. Much of it was on the fly & to be determined. Fly home. Wait 3 days for what we were going to do. Write biz plan and get list of Indiana colleges & universities. I'm ready. I get a call. They've reorganized territories and don't need Indiana after all. It's going to Missouri or Kansas. I'm told that my network & email access were being terminated as of this meeting. After the Pelosi landing in Taiwan, I actually thought China might have blinked. Hard.  Now I'm not so sure my original theory from March isn't a factor.  Russia moved a large portion of it's materiel West. Losses were higher than expected.   That led me to consider the extremely large amounts of money & equipment to Ukraine. We know a lot is unaccounted for.  Russia & China are watching our capabilities & technology and trying to develop counter measures. We are doing the same with the hypersonic missile guy who came here from China this year.  The media is pushing too hard for a story that doesn't line up with ANY reality that I've been looking at and seeing.  Ukraine blows thru our stock piles of high end weapons.  Some make it to unfriendly hands.  China eventually joins Russia in Ukraine. One thing I wish people who "know" me; was that they REALLY understood one key fact.  My positions, whether political or social... nothing has changed over the last 10-15 years. I've never claimed to be correct; but would defend not being wrong (yet with an open mind), happily adjusting my position accordingly. Thoughtful reflected core positions rarely require change. The world has changed. Big time. And while everyone was looking at their phones and following the crowd, I stopped a long time ago. I just have had to yell a lot louder to get everyone's attention. That time has passed and a new one is coming whether we want it or not. I don't have any guesses as to what, where, who or when.  There are multiple "wars" being fought behind the scenes. I think that is why everything is so chaotic. The world prefers simple, easy to categorize problems. It makes them feel like they know the answer. And they do.  To a problem that doesn't exist. This isn't political, it isn't conspiracy. I researched and paid attention.  EVERY SINGLE THING   that YOU  own, that isn't in your hand  not physical is gone. Forever.  And that's the good news. Like a digital Fight Club. Like a real life V for Vendetta. With all of the hacking and war going on, a cyber attack for example, could be blamed for the deletion of ALL electronic records and financial data.  No mortgage payment. No car payment. No credit card payments. No school loan payments.  No bank account. No savings account. No 401k No IRA or investment funds. Anything not physically in your possession is wiped. "You will own nothing, and you will be happy." The Great Reset.  That's just one way life as we know it could suddenly change. Overnight.  There are lots of others.  Nothing can stop what is coming.
